MSU Texas names President’s Medal for Excellence recipients
Students graduating with the highest grade point averages from each of the six academic colleges were honored at the Midwestern State University Fall 2025 commencement ceremony held December 13 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The President’s Medal for Excellence winners received their medals from President Stacia Haynie.
Management major Micah Allen Haigood graduates magna cum laude, and accounting major Erin Noel McCutcheon graduated summa cum laude from the Dillard College of Business Administration.
Lance A. Asmus, Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences graduated magna cum laude, and education major Natasha Kay Moore earned summa cum laude honors from the Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.
Maria Estela Gandy, Mass Communication major, graduated magna cum laude from the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts.
Exercise Physiology major Caitlin Nicole Villacorta graduated magna cum laude, and Exercise Physiology major Alyssa Lynn Marsh graduated summa cum laude from the Robert D. & Carol Gunn College of Health Sciences & Human Services.
Psychology major Brianna Kelsey Makeba Vidal earned a President’s Medal for Excellence, and English major Autumn Grace Johnston graduated magna cum laude from the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences.
Computer Science major Kerry Manolagas and Anna Grace Kough, Geosciences, earned summa cum laude honors from the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics & Engineering.
Summa cum laude graduates have a minimum grade point average of 3.9 while the GPA for magna cum laude graduates ranges from 3.7-3.89.
