MSU Texas names President’s Medal for Excellence recipients
Students graduating with the highest grade point averages from each of the six academic colleges were honored at the Midwestern State University commencement ceremony held May 17. The President’s Medal for Excellence winners received their medals from President Stacia Haynie.
Victoria Martinez and James Riley Savage, accounting majors, and management major Abeni A. Valdez graduated summa cum laude from the Dillard College of Business Administration.
Child and adolescent studies major Marie Michelle Jackson earned summa cum laude honors from the Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.
Music major Charity Nicol Smith graduated summa cum laude from the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts.
Radiologic technology majors Sydney Mason Cooper and Ashlyn Briann Payne, and nursing major Ferrin Rose Garrett graduated summa cum laude from the Robert D. & Carol Gunn College of Health Sciences & Human Services.
Aribah Tahir, psychology and chemistry major, graduated summa cum laude from the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences.
Biology majors Lenore Hannah Mia Adjodha and Ashlea Olivia Hobson, computer science major Ethan Joel Bailey, mechanical engineering majors Clayton Colby Brasher and Kory Kolton Prather, geosciences major Hannah Seen Ean Yip, and biology and chemistry major Zaniya Marie Medlin graduated summa cum laude from the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics & Engineering.
Summa cum laude graduates have a minimum grade point average of 3.9.
