MSU Texas names President’s Medal for Excellence recipients

Students graduating in May 2024 with the highest grade point averages from each of the six academic colleges were honored at the Midwestern State University commencement ceremony held May 11. The President’s Medal for Excellence winners received their medals from President Stacia Haynie.

Accounting major Colten L. Ellis, accounting major Zachary C. O’Dell, and management major Nathan S. Toledo earned summa cum laude honors from the Dillard College of Business Administration.

Jenna C. Dooty, education major, graduated summa cum laude from the Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.

Mass communication majors Casee E. Harl and Cecil T. Witherspoon earned summa cum laude honors from the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts.

Social majors Kelsey E. Cardwell and Darla Meza; Carolyn M. Bruster, a dental hygiene major; and Paden D. Mitchell, a respiratory care major, earned summa cum laude honors from the Robert D. & Carol Gunn College of Health Sciences & Human Services.

Zetta N. Cannedy, Jackson T. Redding, and Andres C. Revis, who all majored in political science/global studies, and psychology majors Micaela M. McSpadden and Sarah-Jo E. Shelton earned summa cum laude honors from the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences.

Geosciences major Jamy C. Keaffer graduated summa cum laude from the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics & Engineering.

Summa cum laude graduates have a minimum grade point average of 3.9.
