Online organizational leadership program added at MSU Texas
Midwestern State University will offer a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership beginning in Fall 2026, pending approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The program received approval from the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents on Feb. 26 in Dallas.
The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership will be offered 100% online. MSU Texas will be the first in Texas to offer this program, which will be housed in the Department of Graduate and Adult Education in the West College of Education and Professional Studies.
The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership is a 30-hour graduate program designed to develop ethical, visionary, and innovative leaders who are prepared to navigate varied and dynamic organizational environments. It will benefit those in business, healthcare, nonprofit, and public service.
“The new master’s degree in organizational leadership will expand options for students seeking additional training in a variety of organizational environments,” MSU Texas Provost Margaret Brown Marsden said. “We anticipate that students seeking career advancement will find the new degree program helpful as they move into positions that help manage organizational complexity and strategic vision.”
MSU Texas officials noted that the Texas Workforce Commission (2024) projects a 17% increase in management occupations from 2022 to 2032. And a recent survey at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls indicates that both officers and enlisted personnel rank organizational leadership among the top degree choices for those pursuing a master’s program.
“MSU especially hopes this program can serve our military-connected students who indicate organizational leadership as one of their top degree choices,” Brown Marsden said. “I am very grateful to the West College of Education and Professional Studies for helping develop a program to serve this important population of learners in our community.”
