Midwestern State University Residence Life & Housing welcomed Mustangs to campus ahead of the Fall 2026 semester, highlighted by a successful Move-In Day on Aug. 19.

A total of 1,568 students were assigned campus housing for Fall 2026. Of those students, 525 arrived before the official Mustangs Move-In Day, while 612 students moved in on Aug. 19.

“There’s nothing quite like move-in day,” Residence Life & Housing Director Kristi Schulte said. “It’s busy, a little chaotic, and full of emotion. Underneath all of it, there’s an incredible sense of possibility.”

It was a giant undertaking, and 390 volunteers stepped up to welcome students and families to campus. The volunteer corps included members of 16 student organizations, two athletic teams, 30 faculty and staff members, and 48 airmen from Sheppard Air Force Base.

Schulte expressed her appreciation for the many individuals and groups who helped make the day a success.

“Every box coming into the building represents a student beginning a new chapter, and it’s a privilege for our campus community to welcome them home,” Schulte said. “I appreciate the work and dedication of the entire campus to make an experience like this possible.”
