New Student Orientation brings new students, energy to MSU Texas

New Student Orientation at Midwestern State University welcomed 403 students and families to three sessions, including 397 first-time freshmen for Fall 2026.

Students from four different states were welcomed, with most coming from the Wichita Falls area and Dallas-Fort Worth. The majority of attending students have a strong interest in healthcare, business, education, and applied STEM fields. Radiologic Technology and Nursing were first and second among incoming students’ academic interest choices.

One attending parent shared this with MSU Texas leadership.

“Hands down, even though I am an alum, MSU is AMAZING! They made everyone feel so welcome, and although a state university, it felt so close and personal, with so much attention to detail! They had an entire program for the students, then a separate program for the parents.”

Cammie Dean, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, said she appreciated the hard work every area of the MSU Texas campus put into meeting the needs of the new students.

MSU Texas looks forward to welcoming more new students to campus in July and August. New Student Orientation dates are July 10 (full), July 15, July 17, August 5, and August 7.
