MSU Texas names Forrester as new dean for Dillard College of Business Administration
Robert C. Forrester, DBA, has been named dean of Midwestern State University’s (MSU Texas) Dillard College of Business Administration. He will officially begin August 1, 2025, upon the retirement of Jeff Stambaugh, Ph.D.
“It is an incredible honor to be named dean of the Dillard College of Business Administration, a place that has meant so much to me personally and professionally,” said Forrester. “As an alumnus and longtime faculty member, I have seen firsthand the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff. I look forward to working collaboratively to build on our momentum – strengthening academic excellence, deepening community and industry partnerships, and preparing our students to lead in an ever-changing global economy.”
Forrester currently serves as chair and Dillard Distinguished Professor of Energy Finance in Dillard’s Department of Economics, Finance & General Business. He is a two-time graduate of MSU Texas earning both his BBA and MBA and later
earning his DBA from Kennesaw State University.He is a champion for collaborative work with faculty and administration to enhance student learning experiences and innovative research, and he is passionate about building meaningful relationships with the community and alumni to enhance career opportunities for students.
For 30 years, Forrester led a successful career as president/CEO for private companies in the Henrietta/Wichita Falls area, and is board chair for United Regional Health Care System.
“As MSU Texas launches an exciting new strategic plan with the goals of educate, support and serve, I am grateful to have Dr. Forrester as part of the leadership team that will implement the plan and help the university grow in enrollment and community engagement,” said Marcy Brown Marsden, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Stambaugh will retire from MSU Texas this summer, where he has provided leadership and guidance to the college and university as the Dillard College dean since 2017. During that time, Stambaugh has overseen numerous initiatives, including growth in the MBA program, creation of the STANG Mentorship program, and, most recently, the extension of AASCB reaccreditation, which was officially ratified by the AACSB Board of Directors in March 2025.
