Beth Vealé elected treasurer for American Society of Radiologic Technologists

Beth Veale, an adjunct professor of Radiologic Sciences at Midwestern State University, has been elected by the members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists to serve on its Board of Directors as treasurer for the 2024-2025 term.

Veale was officially installed during the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting in June. This is Dr. Vealé’s first term on the Board. She has served as the vice chair of the ASRT Research and Grants Advisory Panel, chair and delegate of the ASRT Education Chapter as well as the Northwest Region Area Counselor for the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists.

“An appointment like this to the national professional society means that even though I have retired, I can still be a part of advocating for better patient care, more radiation safety, and professional status in my profession,” Vealé said. “To me, there is no higher honor to be elected by my imaging peers. I could not be more excited and blessed.”

VeBeth Vealealé, Ph.D., R.T.(R)(QM), of Wichita Falls, Texas, has been a technologist for 43 years and a member of ASRT for 29 years. She retired after 34 years of service to MSU Texas in May 2024.

Established in 1920, ASRT represents health care professionals who perform medical imaging procedures or plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments. With nearly 157,000 members, its mission is to advance and elevate the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession and to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
