Veterans Day 2022

Veteran, MSU Texas geosciences student inspired every day by her family

Brandi Morales served her country in the U.S. Army for 10 years (2007-17) but is proud to be back home celebrating Veterans Day 2022 as a Midwestern State University student.

Brandi, from Iowa Park, is majoring in Geosciences at MSU Texas. Her service as an air traffic controller in the Air Force included time at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Riley, Kansas; Iraq; Fort Hood, Texas; and South Korea.

What inspires her? “My inspiration every day is my two boys, Morgan (17) and Brody (13),” Brandi said. “I want to inspire them to always want to learn something new and reach new goals.”

Morgan does plan to follow his mother to MSU Texas in Fall 2023 for his freshman year of college.

Brandi learned in her service in the Air Force the “ability to constantly learn something new.” And she enjoyed the travel and the many friendships she created along the way.

Veterans Day Ceremony

MSU Texas will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at the main entrance of the Hardin Administration Building. Veterans or actively serving members of the MSU Texas family will be honored. The MSU Texas community is encouraged to attend to recognize our veterans. Contact Veterans Affairs Specialist Allana Kaser at ext. 4321 for more information.
