AJ Lopez III, Assistant Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media at Midwestern State University, earned an award for photography from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV Accolades.

Lopez’s photo of “The Spirit” from the Spirit of the Mustangs display in front of Centennial Hall was honored with the Grand Gold designation in the Individual Photography division.

The picture captures the full display of the new University’s Spirit of the Mustangs, which was unveiled in 2019. While the sculpture looks great in the day, it “lights up the night” in this picture, according to the award submission. “On a cloudy blue sky night, all four Mustangs appeared to be running in the water, with the Senior Mustang leading the charge.”

CASE District IV represents more than 2,900 members from more than 260 institutions in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The organization is a leader in providing professional development and training programs in the areas of alumni relations, marketing, communications and philanthropy.
