Orientation and registration are in full swing at MSU Texas as new and returning students prepare for the fall semester beginning on Aug. 23. Leadership is looking forward with much optimism as they make final adjustments that will provide the full academic experience for students.

“The hard work and dedication of our campus community this past year was the catalyst for our return to normal operating procedures this fall,” said James Johnston, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “While we will continue with some increased health and safety precautions, we are anxious to return our normal, daily operations.”

We are now registering students for our traditional face-to-face courses and online courses. The Fall 2021 schedule of classes is available online.

“While the majority of our classes will be conducted in person, we have added to our online options to provide more flexibility for our students’ schedules,” Johnston said. “We do not have hybrid classes (mix of face-to-face and Zoom) planned for fall at this time. The hybrid model served our campus well during the early days of the pandemic to ensure the safety of our community. It was never intended to be a permanent solution, as it is a difficult process for both our professors and students. We are excited to return to the preferred method of face-to-face instruction this fall.”

Facial coverings are optional for all attending or visiting the university. “Our campus has shown great respect for all persons and their decision whether or not to wear a mask as we all realize that several in our community may not be able to be vaccinated for medical or religious reasons,” Johnston said.
