MSU Texas programs rank high on lists for affordability, quality

Graduate and undergraduate programs at Midwestern State University continue to place high in online college-ranking websites, especially in the areas of quality and affordability.

MSU Texas’ post-graduate Family Nurse Practitioner certificate program ranked third on registerednursing.org’s list of Best Post-Master’s Certificate Family Nurse Practitioner Programs-2021. The RN to BSN program ranked also ranked third on registerednursing.org’s list of Best Texas RN to BSN Programs. Methodology included accreditation, availability of online courses, number and types of nursing programs included, ratio of tenured faculty, tuition, and graduate rate.

EduRef.net ranked MSU Texas at No. 5 in its list of 2021 Most Affordable Online Colleges for an MBA Degree. All schools considered for these rankings are regionally or nationally accredited, offer at least one fully online MBA degree (with no more than two weeks of required in-person work), and were obtained from official accrediting agency websites. “The MBA program at Midwestern State University was designed to bring out the best skills needed for individuals to advance and make more money in their careers,” the site states.

MSU Texas ranked No. 5 in the 10 Best Online Radiation Sciences Master’s Programs for 2021 by BestHealthDegrees.com. Programs were ranked according to price, accreditation, reputation, and salary potential, using data from Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and Niche, U.S. News and World Report, and other higher education rating publications.

Intelligent.com included MSU Texas on several lists.

  •      A master’s degree in health administration ranked second on its list of the Top 50 Master’s in Healthcare Administration list for 2021. Only accredited programs were considered, then were evaluated on the basis of flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost, and reputation to achieve a score. Return on investment also was considered by calculating average weekly wages of the occupation versus the cost of the program. This received special recognition for Best Degree Plans.
  •      A respiratory therapy degree placed third on Intelligent.com’s list of the Top 50 Respiratory Therapy Degree Programs, with special recognition as Best in the South.
  •      For online degrees, Ingelligent.com ranked MSU Texas third in the Top 61 Online Human Services Degrees, with special recognition for the best Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree.
  •      In the Top 38 Online Master’s in Health Services Programs, MSU’s ranked eighth, with recognition for Most Affordable.
  •      In the Top 48 Human Service Degree Programs. Intelligent.com ranked MSU Texas at No. 11. Human services degrees prepare students for careers in social work, psychology, and counseling. Intelligent added the distinction of Best in the South.
  •      MSU Texas came in at No. 15 in the Top 54 Master’s in Sports Management Degrees, with a distinction as Best in the South.
  •      Intelligent.com ranked MSU Texas at No. 19 for in the Top 50 RN to BSN Programs with recognition for Most Dual Enrollment Programs.
  •      The nursing program also ranked 19th in Intelligent.com’s Top 50 Nursing Programs with a distinction for Best Psychiatric Nurse Focus.
  •      In Intelligent.com’s Top 31 Online Respiratory Therapy Programs, MSU Texas ranked 20th, and was noted for the Fastest Completion Time.

EDSmart.org ranked MSU Texas No. 12 for Best Online Colleges & Universities in Texas. That’s up from no. 19 for 2019-2020. EDsmart assessed online colleges in Texas based on data that covers four main areas: cost, academic quality (graduation rate), student satisfaction (retention rate), and salary after attending (the median earnings of former students who received federal financial aid, at 10 years after entering the school). Data is gathered from the U.S. Department of Education websites, College Scorecard, and College Navigator.

College Consensus ranked MSU Texas 32nd on a nationwide list of the Best Business Schools for Women. “These students have multiple positive female role models to look up to, with an equal mix of men and women professors in all business departments,” the website states.

MSU Texas ranked No. 36 on Study.com’s nationwide rankings of 2021 Best Degrees in Nursing. Their list of the top 50 nursing institutions in the U.S. reviewed program offerings, clinical training facilities, student support services and other attributes of hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation.
