Dillard College standout Widner named 'Collegian of the Year'
Megan Widner, a Fall 2020 graduate of Midwestern State University, was named the “Collegian of the Year” by the Tornado Alley region of the Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity.
The Collegian of the Year program was established more than 40 years ago and is the highest fraternity honor bestowed upon a collegiate member in Delta Sigma Pi.
“Megan’s selection reflects well both on her and on the rest of our Delta Sigma Pi chapter,” Dillard College of Business Administration Dean Jeff Stambaugh said. “Under Megan’s leadership as president, the chapter has continued to flourish despite the challenges of COVID-19. That only happens because of our chapter’s many energetic and engaged members. Of course, Megan is an outstanding role model for them to follow and emulate.”
Amanda Threlkeld of MSU Texas won the same honor a year ago. Widner appreciated her opportunity as well.
“I have the great honor of representing MSU in the Texas Undergraduate Research Forum, and am encouraged to speak with the Texas Legislators,” Widner said.
Winners are chosen based on multiple criteria, including inter-chapter fraternity events, degree of leadership exhibited in Delta Sigma Pi, scholastic aptitude, and more. The program will highlight how research conducted by undergraduate students positively impacts Texas – and Texans – with the theme: Transforming Texas Through Undergraduate Research.
