MSU Texas names President’s Medal for Excellence recipients

Students graduating with the highest grade point averages from each of the six academic colleges were honored at the Midwestern State University commencement ceremony held virtually June 6. The President’s Medal for Excellence winners’ names were read during the graduation video.

Kervelle M. Guiste, finance and accounting major; Sara Lee E. Maximea, finance major; and Elisha Z. Titre, economics and accounting major, graduated summa cum laude from the Dillard College of Business Administration.

Applied arts and sciences major Julia K. Lowry and early childhood through grade 6 major Jaren R. Parker earned summa cum laude honors from the Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.

Shiori Watashima, music major, and Brendan L. Wynne, mass communication major, graduated summa cum laude from the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts.

Logann N. Speer, radiologic technology major, and Darian A. Wetzel, exercise physiology major, graduated summa cum laude from the Robert D. & Carol Gunn College of Health Sciences & Human Services.

English majors Nathan L. Conard and Kendra N. Woods graduated summa cum laude from the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences.

Biology major Prisca O. Mbonu, geosciences major Rachel L. Morgan, chemistry major Bailey M. Smoot, and computer science major Mai P. Trinh earned summa cum laude honors from the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics & Engineering.

Summa cum laude graduates must have a minimum of a 3.9 grade point.
