Degrees from MSU Texas continue to place high on college ranking sites

Even before this new era of distance learning, online degrees from Midwestern State University appeared on “best of” lists. The tradition continues with MSU Texas ranking near the top of several nationwide lists.

A degree in one of the human services from MSU Texas ranked first on EduRef.net’s list of 2021 Most Affordable Human Services Degrees Online. Accreditation was considered, along with data from the Institute of Education Sciences’ National Center for Education Statistics.

EduRef.net also ranked MSU Texas at no. 4 for the 2020 Most Affordable Online Colleges for Human Resources Degrees. Considerations were regional or national accreditation, the offering of at least one fully online human resources degree (with no more than two weeks of required in-person work)

EDSmart.org ranked MSU Texas at no. 2 in the Most Affordable Online Master’s Programs. “Midwestern State University comes in at number two on our list, and as the only public liberal arts college in the state of Texas, its programs are firmly rooted in the MSU liberal arts tradition; however, they still maintain a strong professional focus,” the site states. Online master’s programs rank according to each school’s average graduate student tuition for in-state students as reported by the National Center for Education Statistics.

EduMed.org named MSU Texas one of today’s best for online learning in health care. EduMed researched more than 7,700 accredited schools using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and from the schools themselves. A data science team then applied a proprietary algorithm to rank all qualifying schools according to seven core metrics. Schools with the best combinations of online learning opportunity, affordability, and student support earned top honors. To qualify, a school must offer its health care programs at least partially online and hold active regional accreditation.

MSU Texas’ Master of Health Administration ranked fifth in EduMed’s Best Online MHA Programs for 2020.

The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences degree ranked fifth in EduMed’s Best Online Radiology Technologists Programs for 2020.

Optimal, formerly SR Education Group, ranked the online Master’s in Criminal Justice degree at no. 17 in its 2020 Most Affordable Master’s in Criminal Justice Online ranking. The rankings are based on a combination of manually researched tuition figures and accreditation.

Great Value Colleges’ list of the 50 Most Affordable Bachelor’s in Economics Programs for 2020 ranked an economics degree from MSU Texas at no. 26. Included in its methodology were tuition, student-to-faculty ratio, return on investment, accreditation, diversity support, and other factors which earned the University points.

In addition to the online ranking sites, Washington Monthly magazine ranked MSU Texas at 36th for its 2020 Best Bang for the Buck Rankings: South, stating that their exclusive lists help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.
