A Message from the President
It is with heavy hearts that we witness the continued existence of inequality and injustice in our nation. The tragic events from Minneapolis, Minnesota, are deeply unsettling.
At Midwestern State University, where black students make up more than 20 percent of our population, we are dedicated to support our fellow students and colleagues equally and without discrimination. This emblematic moment may well provide a turning point for us, an opportunity to individually commit our best efforts to build a more just society.
The guidance of our student leaders will be particularly helpful in this regard. Through programs such as our MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center and student leadership organizations, we continue to provide initiatives designed to foster support, advocacy, and programming for students at MSU Texas.
I know the MSU community can, through action and forthright dialog, counteract hate, discrimination, and violence. I hope you will join us in rededicating our individual and collective energies to the equal treatment of all members of our MSU community.
