Zoe Nolan eyes lofty goals in radiologic sciences

MSU Texas student selected to participate in radiologic leadership program

Zoe Nolan, a radiologic technology student at Midwestern State University, has been selected to participate in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists 2020 Student Leadership Development Program.

Nolan will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2020 ASRT Educational Symposium and Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting June 24-28 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She will attend educational courses specifically designed for students, attend the House of Delegates meetings, and be assigned a professional meeting partner. Nolan was one of approximately 100 radiologic science students from around the country chosen by essay and video interview to participate in the program.

“As only two students from each state are chosen for this program, it is a huge honor,” Nolan said. I hope to take what I learn from this program and apply it to my future goal of becoming President of ASRT. With the current President [Stephanie Johnston] being an MSU alum, I hope to carry on this role and make my classmates and professors proud.”

The ASRT represents more than 156,000 members who perform medical imaging procedures or plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments. The Society also provides radiologic technology students with the tools, services, and support they need to prepare for careers in medical imaging and radiation therapy. It is the largest radiologic science association in the world, with the mission to advance and elevate the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession and to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
