Julie Sullivan went from Midwestern State University to the big city of Austin after graduation. With a willing heart and a selfless desire to help her country, Sullivan recently left her Texas hospital to join temporary health care workers in Brooklyn, New York. She wanted to be at the forefront of fighting COVID-19.

Sullivan earned her diploma from MSU Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care in 2019. She celebrated in July with a video post on Twitter, including the hashtag #hardworkpaysoff.

Never afraid of hard work, Sullivan has shown she can put on her mask and survive a string of 12-hour days working with a team of health care workers from around the country. “Everyone has just stepped up to the plate and is working so hard,” she said in a post for NPR Outbreak Diaries. There is also a four-minute audio of Sullivan on the National Public Radio page.
