MSU Texas Educational Leadership degree ranks No. 2 on nationwide list

The online Masters in Educational Leadership degree from Midwestern State University has been ranked second in a list of the 20 Best Online Masters in Educational Administration Degree Programs 2020. Online Course Report used five criteria for universities nationwide to obtain their ranking.

Using statistics from niche.com, Online Course Report assigned points depending on median earnings six years after graduation. The national median earnings per year six years after graduation is $33,028. The site reports that median earnings for an MSU Texas graduate six years post-graduation were $41,100.

The ranking verifies the goal that Kym Acuña, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Masters in Educational Leadership, has for the program. “Our students are well prepared to go into their schools as leaders and have a positive impact for students,” she said.

Points also were given according to the student-to-faculty ratio and the hourly tuition. MSU Texas boasts an 18:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

Regional accreditation and accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation also added to points assigned. MSU Texas received 19 points out of a possible 23.
