Senior documentaries to be screened Friday
Four documentary films, the class projects of Mass Communication Department seniors, will be screened at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the Fain Fine Arts Center Theatre.
The films include:
Homegrown - A story about a family's vision, hard work, and success who takes on their father's dream, watching it grow into the business it was always meant to be. Along the way, the family faces challenges more difficult than they ever could have imagined. Some of those challenges have the ability to stunt the family business forever ... leaving their father's legacy and their life's work to an unknown future.
Produced by Nizhoni Terronez, Naomi Skinner, Dierrica Smith
Perspective - As society changes, so does people's perception of love. This is the story of one girl's naive perspective on love and her journey to understand loving relationships. As she meets with couples from three different generations, she receives advice on how to create a lasting relationship and what it means to take a risk on someone as well as gain a realistic perspective on love.
Produced by Makayla Burnham, Kelsey McDowell, Kelsey Purcell, Jacob Smith
The City Faith Built - An observational documentary that explores the making of a town and more importantly the people within it. It highlights Wichita Falls' claims to fame, Pam Hughes's efforts to celebrate her hometown, and how The Kitchen feeds the community through Meals on Wheels. We follow the inner workings of Meals on Wheels and the planning and execution of the community's attempt to make it into the Guinness World Records with the Fallstown Dancing Through History event.
Produced by Kharmyn Lewis, Kara McIntyre, Joanna Gartman
The Hereafter - "What do you believe happens to us when we die?" This poetic documentary examines several opinions on death and the possibility of an afterlife. Individuals reflect on their personal beliefs and the experiences that shaped them.
Produced by Jenna Horn, Sam Sutton, Taylor Warren
