WFMA recipient of TCA Arts Create grant
The Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University is a recipient of a $5,000 Arts Create grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, which will help support exhibitions at the WFMA in the 2017-2018 schedule.
The TCA grant enables the WFMA to provide valuable art experiences to the community of Wichita Falls, including an upcoming major show of original prints from Flat Bed Press of Austin, Texas. In summer 2018, the WFMA will present a major exhibition from the Williford Foundation Collection of 19th century paintings by American expatriate artists in Italy, including works by William Merritt Chase, Elihu Vedder, Frank Duveneck, and Charles Caryl Coleman.
The Arts Create grants provide support to Texas arts organizations with budgets over $50,000. The TCA has approved 378 Arts Create grants totaling more than $3 million to museums in 75 Texas cities for fiscal year 2018.
