Wichita Falls, MSU team up for College Town ranking

The City of Wichita Falls' push to make the city into a college town is paying off. In a list released May 2, the online rental service TurboTenant placed Wichita Falls ninth for the "Best Texas College Towns for Fun & Affordability."

"This is an exciting time to live in Wichita Falls. There is so much momentum behind the university and the city. We look forward to our continued partnership with Midwestern State in attracting new students and residents," said Henry Florsheim, President and CEO of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce.

According to TurboTenant, the city is an unbeatable option. "Don't let the low housing costs fool you, Wichita Falls truly is a hidden Texas gem with parks, museums, galleries, festivals, farmers markets, and more."

TurboTenant calls the MSU campus "small but vibrant" and points out that MSU is the only university in Texas to become a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC). MSU "is ideal for students interested in business administration, the fine arts, or nursing school," the site states.

"It's great to be discovered," said MSU President Suzanne Shipley. "Working together, MSU and the city of Wichita Falls have a dynamic future. The æfun' is just beginning."

The site considered activities and services offered in the area with the average rental prices.
