MSU's Harvey Gallery to Host High School Art Exhibit

Midwestern State University and the Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts will host the 26th Annual High School Art Competition, an exhibition of work created by public high school students. A reception for the public and student participants and their families will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Fain Fine Arts Center Foyer Gallery. Scholarships and cash awards will be presented at noon in the gallery.

The exhibition consists of approximately 250 works of art created by area high school students during the past year.

"This is always an outstanding exhibition of artwork in a variety of media such as photography, drawing, prints, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and computer graphics," said Steve Hilton, Associate Professor of Art at MSU and coordinator of the exhibit. "The show provides a great opportunity for the public to view the work of our area high school students."

The works are on display through Feb. 11. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m. For more information, contact the gallery at 940-397-4264.
