Hardin Professor Shao speaks tonight in Faculty Forum Series

Dr. Jianguo Shao, the 2016 Hardin Professor, will speak tonight as part of MSU's Faculty Forum Series at 7 p.m. in Clark Student Center Wichita Suites.

Shao will speak about his research on finding catalysts that accelerate the degradation of the banned insecticide DDT. Although DDT was banned in many countries in the 1970s, the accumulation of DDT in the environment has been found to present severe health and developmental threats toward humans and wildlife. As a result, a need exists to develop efficient methods and techniques to properly treat these types of organic chemicals.
