Music Series at Akin: Miró Quartet to Perform April 8

The quartet's current season includes performances in Cincinnati, Houston, Baltimore, and Vancouver. Internationally, the quartet will perform in the Chamber Music Today Festival in South Korea, a multi-city tour of Japan, and debut at the Hong Kong Chamber Music Festival.
Daniel Ching, violin; William Fedkenheuer, violin; John Largess, viola; and Joshua Gindele, violincello, have served as the quartet-in-residence at The University of Texas Butler School of Music since 2003. Each of the musicians teaches classes at UT and also conducts master classes at universities and conservatories around the world.
Performing with the quartet will be pianist Shai Wosner, who has entertained audiences at Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater, the Lincoln Center, the Santa Fe Musical Festival, Cal Performances in Berkeley, Wigmore Hall in London, and the Festival de Musica de Camara in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Born in Israel, Wosner studied piano with Emanuel Krasovsky as well as composition, theory, and improvisation with Andre Hajdu. Wosner also studied at the Julliard School.

The Music Series at Akin began in spring 2012 with pianist Yefim Bronfman. Cellist Alisa Weilerstein, and pianist Inon Barnatan, and Irish pianist Barry Douglas also have been guests of the series.
