Mass Comm Professor Receives Photography Honor
Dr. Bradley Wilson, assistant professor of mass communication at Midwestern State University, was named the recipient of this year's National Press Photographers Association Robin F. Garland Educator Award.
Wilson is the director of Student Media and The Wichitan adviser at MSU. He is active in the Journalism Education Association and the National College of Media Conventions.
Wilson has been at MSU since fall 2012. He has served as assistant academic director of the University Interscholastic League, executive director of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), and assistant professor at Kansas State University.
The Robin F. Garland Educator Award is given for outstanding service as a photojournalism educator. Garland was a picture editor and war correspondent for the Saturday Evening Post until he joined Graflex Inc. as press technical representative after World War II. Later he became a press photography products specialist for Eastman Kodak Co. He died in 1972.
