Governor appoints regents to MSU Board

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Caven Crosnoe, Nancy Marks, and Shawn Hessing to the Midwestern State University Board of Regents effective February 25, 2014. Their terms will expire in 2020.

Crosnoe is an attorney and president of Sherrill, Crosnoe and Goff in Wichita Falls. He is a sustaining life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the American and Wichita County Bar associations, and the State Bar of Texas and its Securities Law Committee, and a board member of Fidelity Bank of Wichita Falls. He is also past president of the West Foundation Board of Trustees, past vice chairman of the Hardin Foundation for Wichita Falls Board of Trustees, past chairman of the Midwestern State University Foundation Board of Trustees, and past board chairman of the YMCA Wichita Falls and Wichita General Service Corporation. Crosnoe earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.

Marks is a retired Partners in Education coordinator for the Wichita Falls Independent School District. She is a trustee of The Priddy Foundation and Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Wichita Falls, vice president of the Boys and Girls Club Board of Wichita Falls, welcome center coordinator for First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, and a member of the Midwestern State University Alumni Association. She is also a past co-chairman of the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron's Ball of Wichita Falls and past chairman of Hospice of Wichita Falls. Marks earned a bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University.

 

"It is an honor to welcome Caven and Nancy to the Board of Regents," said MSU President Jesse W. Rogers. "Both have worked in different capacities with the university in the past, and we are delighted to have their perspectives and leadership to continue the success of Midwestern State University."

 

Crosnoe and Marks replace Jane S. Carnes and Charles E. Engelman whose terms expired. "We are grateful to Jane and Charlie for the experience and insights they have brought to the board. They have been great ambassadors to the university, working for the benefit of our students, faculty, and staff, and the continued success of Midwestern State," said Rogers.

 

Hessing is a reappointment to the board. He lives in Fort Worth is a certified public accountant and CFO of Oak Hill Capital Partners. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a board member of the Fort Worth Zoo and past member of Young Life Fort Worth. Hessing earned a bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University.
