MSU professor participates in Lubbock art event

Catherine Prose, Associate Professor of Art at Midwestern State University, was selected to participate in an art event held at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock Jan. 18.

Prose joined fellow Texas artists John Hitchcock and Katherine Liontas-Warren for a gallery talk to accompany the center's latest exhibit, "Texas Works," a show that focuses on the creative talents and productions of Texas artists. The featured artists were chosen for their unique perspectives and skill in the printmaking medium. "Texas Works" will be open through Feb. 16 in the Fine Arts Gallery of the Buddy Holly Center.

Prose is also the gallery director for the Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts at MSU. She holds a Bachelor of Art from Cameron University in Lawton, Okla., and a Master of Fine Art from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Hitchcock is an artist and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he teaches screen-printing, relief cut and installation art. Hitchcock received his Bachelor of Fine Art from Cameron University and earned his Master of Fine Art in printmaking and photography at Texas Tech. Liontas-Warren is a professor of art at Cameron where she teaches drawing, watercolor and printmaking. She has a Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut and a Master of Fine Art from Texas Tech.
