Fall enrollment up 4 percent

Midwestern State University has released its 2009 fall enrollment figures reflecting a

4 percent increase compared to fall 2008.

The increase is spread through all the classifications with no one area showing a decline with the exception of post-baccalaureates who are attending but not in a graduate degree program. The largest increase was in the junior classification which may be a result of students transfering from community colleges.

Total semester credit hours are shown at 71,760, also up 4 percent over last fall's figures.

Of the 6,343 students enrolled, 69 percent are full-time students.
