Summer Enrollment
Summer I 2009 enrollment is up 4.7 percent over the same time period last year. The numbers are spread over the freshmen, junior and senior classifications.
Administrators at MSU say the freshmen and junior numbers could signify new students, with the junior students possibly coming as transfers from community colleges. Others may be taking advantage of summer course offerings so the students can stay on a four-year track for graduation.
The increase could also be reflective of what may happen in fall. Last fall's enrollment was up 1 percent after four fall semesters of decreasing numbers.
Summer II classes begin July 6. Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday beginning at
7 a.m.
