The 44th Season of the Artist-Lecture Series Opens Oct. 13
Dr. Tyrone Hayes
October 13
7 p.m. in Akin Auditorium
For biologist and herpetologist Tyrone Hayes, scientific breakthroughs don't begin and end in the laboratory. They also come from the field. That is why, more often than not, you'll find Hayes wet, muddy, and knee-deep in an African swamp at 2 a.m. - the time when the frogs come out. That abiding fascination led Hayes to earn an undergraduate degree in organismic and evolutionary biology from Harvard University. He later received a Ph.D. in integrative biology from the University of California, Berkeley, where he serves as a professor. Hayes's topic will be From Silent Spring to Silent Night: What Do Frogs Tell Us About Human Health?
