Juried Student Exhibition 2008
The University Art Gallery will present a Juried Student Art Exhibition which will mark the culmination of studio activities associated with the art program during the 2007 - 2008 academic year. As in years past, the goal of the student exhibition is to highlight the most outstanding student efforts from disciplines offered by the Fine Art undergraduate program at Midwestern State University. This year art works will be chosen by an independent juror who was selected by the art faculty for his expertise and understanding of undergraduate art works. The juror is being brought in this year to add an educational experience for students in preparation for professional careers in art.
About the juror:
Timothy Tracz received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art of Temple University and is currently Professor of Art, and Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Austin College. His works have been included in hundreds of solo and group exhibitions including Born Again Objects at the Arlington Museum of Art, Neglected Reality of Americana at the Los Angeles Center for Photographic Studies, and I've been working on the Railroad at the Photo Collect Gallery in New York. Permanent collections of his work include the Art Museum of the University of Oregon; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the Fine Arts Museum of Houston.
