New athletics website unveiled
Midwestern State Director of Athletics Ed Harris announced the launch of MSUMustangs.com Monday morning.
"Midwestern Athletics continues to advance the Mustangs brand with the launch of MSUMustangs.com," Harris said. "The new site gives our program a sharp new look, while adding new services to the alumni, donors and fans of MSU Athletics as we strive to add visibility to MSU's strong tradition of athletic success."
The site is a collaborative effort between the MSU Athletic Department and AthleticSite.com, a division of Major Program, to improve Midwestern's athletic presence on the Web.
"I would like to commend AthleticSite's Scott McCain on the attractive design and navigation of the site," Harris said. "And I'd like to thank (Assistant Athletic Director) Bill Powers for his efforts on heading up this important project."
Midwestern State Athletics' new home on the World Wide Web provides alumni, current students and fans a wide variety of improved options to stay informed and involved with each of the 11 programs offered at MSU.
An innovative composite schedule gives supporters an opportunity to plan for events months in advance, while a creative five-day window keeps them apprised of immediate Mustangs events both at home and on the road.
The site also offers an automated player profile database complete with photos and a brief bio on each student-athlete.
Individual team pages allow for quick reference to team stories, schedules and statistics. A statistical archive is also available for nine of the program's 11 sports.
MSUMustangs.com also provides fans the opportunity to listen to audio streaming of live and archived games, subscribe to automated newsletters and view real-time stats and play-by-plays for the soccer, volleyball, football, basketball and softball home events.
The site also adds to the recruiting efforts for each of the programs providing a recruiting questionnaire as well as school-specific NCAA compliance information.
The sharp new look combined with constant updates and an added potential for revenue provides Mustangs' Athletics an opportunity to add even more services in the future.
"We will continue to explore all options to provide the student body, alumni and fans of Midwestern Athletics with the best possible product because that's what they deserve," Harris said.
