Natkin joins MSU football coaching staff
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Brian Natkin will take over as an assistant for Midwestern State head coach Bill Maskill this fall and will be primarily responsible for the offensive line.
"Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to the program and will be a great mentor," Maskill said. "His enthusiasm and playing experience will be an asset as he molds our offensive line into a cohesive unit."
Natkin completed his collegiate career at the University of Texas-El Paso as one of two consensus all-americans in Miner history as he led all tight ends with 64 receptions in 2000. He earned first-team all-Western Athletic Conference selection on three occasions.
The San Antonio native played a season with the Tennessee Titans and was in camp with the St. Louis Rams as a fullback before returning to UTEP to complete his degree in 2003 and start a coaching career.
Natkin coached three seasons under Mike Price before moving on to Northern Colorado where he mentored the offensive line.
Midwestern State, who advanced to the Southwest Regional semifinals last season, kicks off the 2007 campaign at Adams State in Alamosa, Colo. on Aug. 25.
