Mustangs slip to 18th Nationally
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University Mustangs dropped three positions in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25.
MSU (39-14) check in at number 18 down from a tie at number 15.
The top five remained the same as last week, with Columbus State (Ga.) the number one at 48-2, while defending national champion Lock Haven (Pa.) is second with a 39-2 record. Humboldt State (Calif.) (51-6) is ranked third, with Angelo State (44-8) fourth and Valdosta State (Ga.) (43-5) fifth.
The second ten have Minnesota State (40-12) sixth, followed by Lewis (Ill.) (31-10), Adelphi (N.Y.) (32-8), Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) (48-8) and Emporia State (Kan.) (41-9).
MSU, the Lone Star Conference North Division titlist and defending LSC champion, opens play in the 2007 LSC Tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Texas Woman's.
