Wai-Kun and Voices bring additional 10 awards from TIPA

VOICES 2006, led by Elizabeth Hawley, Editor, and Jason York, Assistant Editor, took 3rd place in the general excellence category for literary magazines at the 2007 Texas Intercollegiate Press Association conference, along with a 5th place finish in the overall literary magazine sweepstakes. Carrie Sullivan won 1st place in literary magazine short story, and Elizabeth Hawley won 2nd place in literary magazine cover design.

 

The WaiKun staff took a 2nd place in Sports Feature Photo for "MSU Rugby", a 2nd place and an honorable mention in Sports Action Photo for "Kicking soccer ball" and  "Slam Dunk." Garolyn Sparks won an honorable mention in Feature Photo for "Picking up trash." Ashley Jackson won 3rd place in Sports Copy for "MSU Volleyball." The team of Kalen Tubbs, Ashley Jackson, Brianna McClane, and Zeno Ferguson won honorable mention in the Feature/Student Life Package for "Student Life."
