MSU 13th after One Round in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas - The Midwestern State University Mustangs battled high winds and bad bounces to stand 13th after one round of the St. Edward's Invitational at the Circle C Golf Ranch on Monday.
The teams played most of a second round as well on Monday, but darkness forced an end of the day with about two holes left in the round.
MSU, in its first action of the spring season, turned in a first round total of 332 to stand 13th in the 15 team field with a 332.
Logan Scarlett led the way for MSU, posting a 79 in the opening round to stand 16th. Hunter Linscombe posted an 82, Gordon Quebodeaux an 83 and Brady Jones an 88 for the Mustangs. Andrew Ludlow was given a round disqualification as well.
MSU had two golfers out on the course when the second round was halted, with Quebodeaux bouncing back at two-over through 17 holes and
Abilene Christian holds the lead after round one with a 312, while host St. Edward's and Cameron are tied at 316.
The second round resumes at 7:45 on Tuesday morning, then the teams will play the third and deciding round immediately following.
