senior Eric Dawson, who led the Mustangs to wins at Eastern New Mexico
and West Texas A&M, was named the Lone Star Conference South Player of the Week for the second time this season.
, the 6-9 senior center from San Antonio/Sam Houston, led MSU to the top seed in the LSC South by averaging 14.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 blocked shots and 2.0 assists in the road wins.
It was the first time since 2000 that MSU had won on the road at both ENMU and WT.
Dawson scored 18 points with 14 boards, three blocks and three steals at Eastern New Mexico, then picked up 11 points with 15 rebounds, a block and two steals in beating West Texas A&M to record his 18th and 19th double-doubles of the season. He also shot .478 from the floor (11-of-23) and 7-of-10 (.700) from the free throw line.
With his 29 rebounds in two games, became NCAA Division II's rebounding leader, averaging 11.6 boards per game.
was named the LSC South Player of the Week on Feb. 5, becoming the only MSU player named to the team twice this season. Drew Coffman, Chris Davis and Chad Rickett were also named LSC South Players of the Week this season.
