Tarleton State rips Mustangs 58-46
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Tarleton State University TexAnns handed the Midwestern State University Mustangs their second Lone Star Conference South loss of the season as TSU beat the Midwestern women 58-46 Tuesday night at Gerald Stockton Court in D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
MSU (7-5, 0-2) started off on the wrong foot, as Tarleton (7-2, 2-0) opened the game with 12-2 run and never trailed.
The Mustangs pulled within one with six minutes to go in the first half, when TSU went on a 7-2 run to end the threat.
Tarleton got 18 points and 21 rebounds from JoAnne Jones to go with three blocks. Krystal Cole notched 12 points for the TexAnns, while Olivia Pyburn tallied 11 points with four steals.
MSU completes a three-game home stand on Saturday evening when the Mustangs host Texas A&M-Commerce. The contest tips at 6 p.m., followed by men's action about 8 p.m.
