WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University Mustangs held off visiting Texas A&M Univeristy-Commerce for most of the first half, but a 19-7 run over the last six minutes of the first half gave the Lions the advantage they needed to beat MSU 83-57 in a Lone Star Conference women's divisional crossover game Saturday night at Gerald Stockton Court in D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

MSU (7-6) jumped out to an eight-point lead in the first four minutes of the game, but A&M-Commerce (10-6) answered with a 9-0 run to take the lead. The teams battled back and fourth for the next few minutes

The Lions jumped out of the second half gates, extending their lead to 26 by the mid-way point and never looked back.

Midwestern
State

was paced by senior Sonya Calhoun-Courtney with 20 points and five rebounds, while freshman Andrea Buben added 11 points with six boards.

A&M-C got 20 points from Kanani Marshall, with Britney

Jordan
adding 14 points and Dawn Montgomery 13. Dominee Evans led all rebounders with nine boards for the Lions.
