Maroon Out and Cram The Coliseum This Weekend
-
is providing Mustangs fans a chance to see the men's and women's doubleheaders with
and West Texas A&M at a discount to cheer on the squads.
The MSU men's dramatic road win over number 23 Texas A&M-Kingsville last Saturday has set the stage for the biggest two-game home stretch of the year for the Mustangs thus far.
MSU (12-3, 1-0) snapped the Javelinas' 10-game home court win streak in a victory that could pave the way for Coach Jeff Ray's Mustangs to become a frontrunner in the race for the Lone Star Conference South Division title.
With
coming to
at D. L. Ligon Coliseum Thursday and West Texas A&M Saturday for women's and men's games at 6 and 8 p.m., both nights are being targeted for sellouts.
"On Thursday we are having a Maroon Out where anyone wearing Maroon will be admitted for $2," said Ed Harris, MSU's Director of Athletics. "Saturday is æCram the Coliseum' night, and all adults will be admitted for $2. Children 12 and under will be admitted free each of those nights."
The Iowa Park Jazz Band will perform for both games Thursday, and more than 75 honor students from Barwise will be guests. Thursday is also "Celebration of Champions" night where the MSU football and men's soccer teams will be introduced at halftime along with numerous individual award winners in football, soccer and volleyball.
"Our women's basketball team is playing hard, and our men are having just a tremendous season," Harris said. "We want to encourage our students and sports fans in the community to come out and help our teams win these two very important games."
