Chris Davis named LSC South Player of the Week
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State University swingman Chris Davis was selected as the Lone Star Conference South Men's Player of the Week after leading the Mustangs to a 76-73 victory at No. 23 Texas A&M-Kingsville.
In the only game played by the Mustangs last week, Davis led the squad with 15 points including the game-winning three-pointer with 5.4 seconds left to snap TAMUK's 10-game home-court winning streak.
The 6-3, 190 pound junior from Terrell also led the team with six rebounds, shot 50 percent (5-of-10) from the floor and hit 2-of-3 from the three-point arc. He was also credited with two assists, a blocked shot and a steal as MSU stretched it's winning streak to nine games.
Joining Davis as a player of the week this week are West Texas A&M's Emily Brister as the LSC South Women's Player of the Week, while Southeastern Oklahoma State's Eric Babers and Lora Loy were selected LSC North Players of the Week.
Davis is the second Mustangs player to be named All-LSC South this season, as guard Drew Coffman won the honor on Jan. 3.
