NSCAA Honors Mustangs

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced their 2006 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II Men's All-American team on Friday, with Midwestern State placing two players on the list.

ááááááááááááááá Senior defenseman Daniel Woolard earned First Team All-American honors and senior forward Brandon Swartzendruber earned Second Team All-American Honors.

ááááááááááááááá "It was a special Year" said men's head coach Doug Elder. "This is the first time MSU soccer has had two All-Americans in the same year."

ááááááááááááááá Woolard, who ranks second in career starts at MSU with 80, was the top defensive player in the Southwest Soccer Conference this year. Already this post-season he has earned First team All-SSC, First Team All-Midwest Region by both Daktronics and the NSCAA. He scored one goal on the season and helped the MSU defense shutout 11 opponents this season.

ááááááááááááááá Swartzendruber led the Mustangs in both points, 44, and goals scored this season, 17. Already this post season he has earned SSC Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-SSC, First Team All-Midwest Region by the NSCAA, and Second Team All-Midwest Region by Daktronics.
