Mustangs Women Win Third Straight
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - - The Midwestern State University women's basketball team picked up their third straight victory, this time beating the East Central Tigers, 57-46.
Playing their third game in five days, the Mustangs jumped out to are 14 point halftime lead. In the second half, the Tigers made a late 7-0 run to cut the lead to just seven points with 2:15 to play. MSU followed that with there own 6-0 run to ice the game, which included 4-4 shooting from the free throw line.
Midwestern was led on the court by Sonya Calhoun-Courtney, who finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Kaylon Hodge also chipped in 14 points, while Brandi Bush led the Mustangs in rebounding with seven.
The Tigers were lead by Lacey Goldwire, who had 21 points on 9-11 shooting from the floor.
The Mustangs will be on the road for their next, as the travel to Tarleton State on Saturday. The tip time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Stephenville.
