Mustangs Women beat Cameron

- The Midwestern State University women closed their game with
Cameron
University
on a 7-2 run to take a 65-60 win at Aggie Gymnasium in Lone Star Conference crossover play.

MSU (3-3) and Cameron (0-9) were tied at 58-all with 5:34 to play when an Andi Richardson free throw with 5:04 broke the tie and the Mustangs never trailed.

Andrea Buben's jumper with 42 seconds left gave MSU a three-point lead and sealed the MSU win.

Sonya Courtney led the way with 20 points, while Stacey Staten added 13 points with six boards and Richardson 10 points with seven boards. Brittni Burks also collected seven rebounds.

Cameron was paced by Ciara Carroll with 17 points, with Tiffany Williams added 10 points.

The Mustang women return to D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Monday for a game with East Central (

Okla.
). It's a make up contest that was scheduled for Nov. 30.
