Cameron edges MSU Men
LAWTON, Okla. - Cameron University's Joseph Bolden hit a running jumper with 41 seconds to play to grab the lead, then collected every rebound from then on to take a 79-77 victory over Midwestern State University in Lone Star Conference crossover action.
MSU (3-3) tied the game with a minute to play on a Chad Rickett jumper only to have Bolden drive and get fouled.
Bolden missed the free throw, but Cameron (6-2) got the offensive rebounds by Marlon Bernard, then collected offensive boards after two missed shots.
Midwestern held a 10-point lead with 13:14 to play only to see the Aggies go on a 15-6 run in the next six minutes to pull within a point.
MSU built back a 70-65 lead with 5:32 to play, when Cameron went on an 8-2 run to take the lead and the teams traded the lead after that.
Rickett led all scorers with 25 points and four assists for MSU, while Drew Coffman collected 20 points and Christopher Reay double-doubled with 13 points and 11 boards.
Cameron was paced by Matthew Reid with 24 points, with Willie Tisdale adding 19 points and Bolden 16. Melvin Mitchell added 11.
