Mustangs roll Dallas Christian 113-42
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University Mustangs had seven players score in double-digits as they set a new school record for point differential in a game, as MSU ripped Dallas Christian College 113-42 Saturday night in non-conference play at Gerald Stockton Court in D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
MSU (2-0) downed DCC (1-5) by 71 points, breaking the previous record for widest margin of 66 set in 1958-59 when MSU beat the
Senior Drew Coffman led the Midwestern attack, scoring 19 points, all in the first half, nailing 5-of-7 from the three-point arc. Senior Chris Francois added 15 points off the bench, while senior Eric Dawson had 14 points, three blocks and three steals in the contest.
Junior Jeremy Ford added 12 points for the Mustangs, while freshman Michael Godwin, junior Christopher Reay and sophomore Russell Button all had 10 points. Reay led all rebounders with eight boards.
Dallas Christian did not have a player score in double-digits, with Tim Samuel and Brandon Dewalt each scoring nine. Dewalt also had seven boards.
MSU shot 58.4 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the three-point arc, while holding DCC to 27.6 percent shooting from the field.
