MSU moves up one spot in AFCA Poll

- The Midwestern State University football team moved up one spot in the national rankings this week.

The Mustangs climbed to 22nd in the weekly American Football Coaches Association Division II Poll after beating

Eastern New Mexico
29-19 last Saturday.

MSU, with a 8-2 overall record, 6-2 in all Lone Star Conference games and 3-2 in the LSC South Division, is still the third team LSC South team in the poll this week.

West Texas A&M (9-1) climbed two spots to 10th this week, while Abilene Christian (8-1) rose one position to 18th.

There was no change in the top six this week heading into the final week of the regular season as defending national champion Grand Valley State (Mich.) (10-0) retained the top spot, followed by defending runner-up Northwest Missouri State (10-0), and North Alabama (9-0) third. NWMSU had two first place votes and UNA received one number one vote. North Carolina Central (10-0) is fourth, with Shepherd (

W.Va.
) (9-0) fifth and Bloomsburg (Pa.) (9-1) sixth.
