Mustangs women advance at LSC Tournament
MSU (10-7-1) got on the board first in the 15th minute as Michelle Harris got the rebound off Kari Bristow's shot and put it past ASU goal keeper Becky Martin.
Then less than five minutes later, Katy Luckert took advantage of Bristow's shot off of Martin and scored again to give the fifth-seeded Mustangs a 2-0 advantage.
Midwestern outshot ASU 17-10, as MSU goal keeper Heather Primavera posted four saves. Martin recorded seven saves in addition to the two goals allowed.
The other first round game of the tournament saw third-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce beat sixth seed
