Mustang Men Picked Fourth
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Midwestern State University men's basketball team has been picked fourth in the Lone Star Conference South Division preseason basketball poll, which was released Friday by the conference.
Tarleton State, last years South Division Champ and NCAA Elite Eight participant, lead all votes with 12 of the possible 19 first place votes for a total of 123 points.
MSU received 73 total points in the poll, which is voted on by 19 LSC coaches, sports information directors, and various media representatives.
The Mustangs return two starters from last years 16-11 team, guard Chad Rickett and post-player Eric Dawson. The two seniors combined to average 28.7 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game for Midwestern last season.
MSU opens its exhibition season Wednesday, when they travel to play Texas A&M. The game is slated to tip off at 8:00 p.m., in College Station.
